Complications

It’s very important to control your diabetes because this disease can have very serious side affects on any body part.

Here is a list of some of the  negative affects diabetes can have if uncontrolled:

*Eye problems – blindness

*Kidney problems – kidney failure

*Heart/blood vessel problems – heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, poor circulation

*Nerve damage – neuropathy

*Amputation – Loss of feet and/or legs

*Foot problems – foot ulcers

*Dental disease

*Diabetic coma

I spoke with Dr. Long Nguyen who treats diabetic patients on a daily basis.  We discussed possible side affects from uncontrolled diabetes and what patients can do to manage this disease.
